Terms of Service
Effective September 16, 2026 · Shop Bookkeeper by StreamlineSMB
1. The service
Shop Bookkeeper provides bookkeeping automation: bank transaction import (via Plaid or CSV), rule-based categorization, consolidation, reconciliation, and financial reporting (P&L, balance sheet). The service is provided to the account owner for their own business records.
2. Not professional advice
Shop Bookkeeper is a bookkeeping tool, not a tax preparation, tax advisory, or accounting service. Outputs such as profit & loss reports and balance sheets are management tools, not certified financial statements. Consult a qualified accountant or tax professional before filing taxes or making financial decisions based on app output. IRS categorization mappings are provided for convenience and do not constitute tax advice.
3. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accuracy of imported data and for reviewing categorized transactions.
- You are responsible for reconciliation before relying on reports.
- You must maintain the confidentiality of your access (password) and only use the service from authorized networks.
4. Bank connections
Bank data is accessed through Plaid Inc. under Plaid's terms. We only request the Transactions product. Plaid's availability, accuracy, and institution coverage are controlled by Plaid; we are not liable for Plaid-side outages or data gaps, but will surface them honestly in the app.
5. Availability
We target continuous availability with automated monitoring and backups (15-minute snapshots, integrity-checked). The service is provided "as is" without warranty of uninterrupted operation. Planned maintenance will be kept to a minimum and performed with backups taken beforehand.
6. Data
Your data remains yours. We use it only to operate the service (see Privacy Policy). On account closure or request, data is exported or deleted within 30 days.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StreamlineSMB's total liability arising from the service is limited to the fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions made based on unreconciled data.
8. Changes & termination
We may update these terms with notice via the app or email. You may stop using the service at any time; we may suspend access for security violations or non-payment (when the service is monetized).
